SAINT VITUS Plays First European Show Without WINO In Gothenburg: Video Available
November 13, 2014Doom metal legends SAINT VITUS performed as a three-piece in Gothenburg, Sweden on November 11 — two days after the band's lead singer, Scott "Wino" Weinrich, was detained by the Norwegian police and immigration officers for possession of illegal substances (said to be eleven grams of methamphetamine). Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below.
Wino was deported back to the U.S. on November 12 and will not rejoin SAINT VITUS on their current European tour. Guitarist David Chandler and drummer Henry Vasquez, along with a few surprise guests, are taking over vocal duties for what the band describes as "a rare opportunity to see VITUS with main songwriter David Chandler vocalizing his tormented tales of pain, heartache and DOOM."
SAINT VITUS' latest album, "Lillie: F-65", was released in North America in May 2012 via Season Of Mist.
The band's current lineup features Weinrich, Chandler, Vasquez and bassist Mark Adams.
